A surprising amount goes on in our little area, but travel is often involved.
Please tell us about your event so we can tell others in the Tattler and here.
For more information about any listed event, please contact Tubbut Neighbourhood House.
We now have a wood fired pizza oven at the Bonang Hall and the Tubbut Hall for public use. These ovens were built by locals using funds from the East Gippsland Shire's Streetscape funding. We bought them in kit form from alfresco wood fired ovens. Here is their link if you are interested in building your own.
FIRE SCULPTURE WORKSHOP WEEKEND 11TH & 12TH JUNE
An amazing weekend was had by all at our Fire Sculpture and Dance workshop. Thanks to an East Gippsland Arts Alliance Grant and the Neighbourhood House we were able to run this FREE event.
The amazing artists who came from Melbourne to run this event were:
“Margie Mackay (MA Theatre Design, BA Fine Arts) is a Melbourne-based artist and researcher engaged in ritual-art practices in communities both nationally and internationally.
“Originating from Zimbabwe, but now living in Australia, Gilbert Douglas is one of Southern Africaʼs most respected contemporary dance choreographers and teachers, and is the outgoing Artistic Director of Tumbuka Dance Company.
Here are some photos of the sculptures we made. A Huge thank you goes out to all that attended and made it such a special weekend.
